The aim of the school is to provide comprehensive educational, and audiological support services for babies and young pre-school children with hearing impairment.

The school believes in the philosophy that it is the right for every child to have chances to learn to talk.

All the children at BALA VIDYALAYA, including the ones with severe or profound hearing loss, learn to speak. The barrier imposed by hearing impairment is overcome through appropriate intervention.

The school gives intensive training to infants and young children. To begin with the child is helped on a 1 to 1 ratio. The children are later grouped with a teacher pupil ratio of 1:4. The Parents are counseled and guided to help the children.

The goal of the intervention is to help the children make best use of their residual hearing through constant use of suitable hearing aids and develop age appropriate languages skills. The curriculum followed at school prepares each child to participate in the mainstream education at the earliest possible age. The children enter the regular school, whenever they demonstrate the skills necessary for competing successfully with their hearing age mates.
