A National Conference "Early Intervention of children with Hearing Impairment - Achievements and Challenges" was held in Rani Seethai Hall - Anna Salai - Chennai on the 11th of February 2010. The Conference had over 500 participants who included eminent people working for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, educators for the Deaf, Students studying Audiology and Speech Pathology, parents of Deaf children - current and alumni, Teacher trainees etc for all over the country.
The conference was inaugurated by Mrs. Geetha Jeevan , Minister of Social Welfare, Govt. of Tamilnadu. The Secretary Mr. Rama Mohana Rao IAS Social Welfare & NMD, Govt. of Tamilnadu was the key note speaker.
The Conference had four sessions.The I for Early Intervention Centres, the II Institutes conducting DTYHI, the III Alumnus of BV and the last a panel discussion.
The Alumnus stole the show, by proving what they are capable of. |
